Powerful ideas do not always begin inside established institutions. Forward Ever Collective Foundation provides fiscal sponsorship and organizational support for mission-aligned charitable initiatives serving Ghanaian, African, diaspora, and underserved communities.
FECF believes some of the most important solutions come directly from communities. Our Fiscal Sponsorship Program creates a pathway for social entrepreneurs, community leaders, emerging organizations, and collaborative initiatives to pursue charitable work without necessarily having to build a nonprofit organization from the ground up.
FECF provides fiscal sponsorship to projects aligned with our values of Empowerment, Change-Making, and Integrity, and our broader work across economic mobility, youth development, civic leadership, health, environmental wellbeing, immigration support, and global community impact.
IMPORTANT DISTINCTION
Fiscal sponsorship is an institutional relationship — not another FECF "program area." Sponsored initiatives maintain the identity appropriate to their sponsorship model while FECF provides charitable oversight and infrastructure.
TWO SPONSORSHIP STRUCTURES
FECF currently uses two principal sponsorship structures, chosen based on what each initiative needs.
COMPREHENSIVE FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
Best suited for initiatives that need a full nonprofit home.
The sponsored initiative becomes a program of FECF. FECF assumes legal and fiduciary responsibility and provides the infrastructure necessary to operate the project, including:
- Financial management and charitable fund administration
- Expense processing and financial controls
- Contractor and staffing administration
- Compliance oversight
- Fundraising infrastructure
- Administrative and operational support
- Reporting and governance support

PRE-APPROVED GRANT RELATIONSHIP
Best suited for independent projects that want to retain their own identity and leadership.
The initiative remains independent while FECF receives charitable contributions designated to support approved charitable activities and makes grants to the project under an established agreement. The project maintains its distinct identity while agreeing to FECF's financial, reporting, charitable-use, and compliance requirements.

FECF's sponsored initiatives are led by individuals and organizations pursuing work that aligns with our charitable mission. Although FECF provides fiscal sponsorship, oversight, and institutional infrastructure, these initiatives retain their own leadership and identity where appropriate.
AFRICA DIASPORA YOUTH HUB
Youth Leadership · Mentorship · Diaspora Engagement
Founded by Eugenia Boateng, the Africa Diaspora Youth Hub is a youth leadership and mentorship initiative designed to address gaps in structured exposure, mentorship, professional development, and civic-leadership pathways for young people across the African diaspora. The Hub connects emerging leaders with mentors, educational experiences, professional networks, and opportunities to build relationships across borders.
AFRICAN ELECTED LEADERS OF AMERICA
Civic Leadership · Elected Officials Network · Policy Advocacy
AELA brings together African immigrant civic leaders and elected officials from across the United States to advocate for equity and representation, foster collaboration across states, and build community development opportunities. AELA empowers African immigrant civic and elected leaders to rise, connect, and lead boldly — shifting power, building movements, and shaping a more inclusive democracy.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
FECF considers projects that:
- Align with FECF's charitable mission and values
- Benefit Ghanaian, African, diaspora, or other underserved communities
- Have a clearly defined charitable purpose
- Demonstrate meaningful potential for community impact
- Have capable leadership or a credible implementation plan
- Can operate within nonprofit and IRS 501(c)(3) requirements
- Are willing to follow FECF's financial, reporting, communications, and compliance standards
FECF-sponsored initiatives cannot engage in partisan political campaign activity. Advocacy may be permitted within the legal limitations applicable to charitable organizations.

FROM IDEA TO SPONSORED INITIATIVE
START THE CONVERSATION
Submit a short description of your project, its intended impact, preliminary budget, and anticipated timeline.
MISSION & COMPLIANCE REVIEW
FECF reviews mission alignment, potential community impact, financial feasibility, organizational capacity, and potential compliance considerations.
SPONSORSHIP MODEL SELECTION
If approved, FECF determines whether the initiative is best suited to a comprehensive Model A relationship or an independent Model C grant relationship.
AGREEMENT & ONBOARDING
The project and FECF execute the appropriate sponsorship agreement and establish financial, reporting, communications, and operational procedures.
LAUNCH & GROW
Once onboarding is complete, the project can begin operating and fundraising within its approved FECF sponsorship structure.

Financial and program reporting systems that help demonstrate how resources are being used.

Guidance that helps emerging initiatives build more durable systems as they grow.
BUILT FOR ACCOUNTABILITY
Fiscal sponsorship carries responsibility. Sponsored initiatives agree to appropriate financial controls, reporting requirements, charitable-purpose restrictions, communications protocols, and compliance reviews.
Depending on the sponsorship structure, reporting can include monthly or quarterly financial and narrative reports, annual outcome reporting, supporting documentation, and periodic fiscal reviews.
